Automotive LCD Displays

When I talk with automotive engineers, they usually have two very different display needs in the same vehicle.

  • Compact LCD modules for HVAC, body controls and small function panels.
  • 7–12.3 inch TFT displays for instrument clusters, center stacks and in-vehicle HMI.

We focus exactly on this range.
We design and manufacture automotive LCD displays from custom segment and LCD modules to large TFT HMI screens, all tuned for in-vehicle conditions and long production lifetimes.

Automotive Applications We Support

Our LCD displays are designed into many in-vehicle systems and related equipment.

Engineered for In-Vehicle Conditions

Automotive environments are harsh. Your LCD must survive vibration, temperature swings and strong sunlight while keeping the same appearance for years. We design our automotive LCD solutions with these requirements in mind:

Custom Automotive LCD & HMI Design Support

Every vehicle platform is different. Styling, packaging space and electrical architecture all vary from project to project. We support you through:

  • Segment pattern and optical design: For HVAC and cluster-related segments, we help design icon sets, viewing angles and backlight parameters.
  • Mechanical and optical customization: For both small modules and 7–12.3″ TFT, we adapt glass outline, viewing window, backlight, FPC and mounting to your trim and housing.
  • Touch and cover lens integration: For larger TFT, we combine LCD, touch and cover glass into a ready-to-assemble module with appropriate printing and surface finish.
  • Prototyping and validation: We support A-sample, B-sample and later stages with drawings, 3D data and test samples, so your team can validate temperature, vibration and EMC performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the LCD type. For many standard LCD modules, we support small MOQ for the first order. For full custom glass or backlight, the MOQ is higher, but we always suggest a cost-effective quantity for you.

For standard LCD modules, the lead time is usually around 4–5 weeks after order. For custom LCD designs, tooling and first samples may take about 3-4 weeks, depending on complexity. After your sample is approved, mass production follows the agreed schedule.

If we can base your design on one of our existing standard structures, sometimes no tooling cost is needed. For full custom glass, backlight or special mechanics, a one-time tooling cost is required. We always explain the tooling items clearly in the quotation before you decide.

Yes, we do this very often. You can send me photos, key dimensions, pinout or a drawing of your current LCD. We will check if we can design a drop-in or improved replacement with stable long-term production.

Most industrial LCD models are designed for 5–10 years of service life under typical conditions. We run lifetime and reliability tests to support this, and keep continuous production for core models. If you need test data for your project, we can share the relevant reports with you.

I mainly support industrial, medical, power, HVAC, instruments and home appliance projects. Most of my customers are from Europe, North America and Asia, working on long-lifecycle devices.
